Due to the astounding success of our inaugural Harvest Xmas Market last December we have decided to host another one this year.
It will be held at Harvest Workroom on Sunday December 18th - the last weekend before xmas - the perfect opportunity for folks to buy up their yuletide goodies.
Judging by the success of our last market the Harvest Xmas Market will have a great vibe, an amazing line-up of designer/makers (see below) and will be a great way to imbue Harvest Workroom with some xmas cheer.

Where: Harvest Workroom - 512 Lygon Street, East Brunswick
When: Sunday 18th December 10am - 5pm

See you there!

Miniscapes merge desktop gardening and design to produce beautiful living sculptures.
Miniscape terrariums are the perfect living centre piece for your office reception, board room table, studio or home environment.
A sustainable alternative to floral arrangements, these miniature gardens bring a slice of nature inside.
Miniscapes was founded in 2008 by Clea Cregan in her downtime from working in the film industry.

What began as personal projects for around her home, and for friends has quickly gathered momentum, and now Clea is installing personalised miniature gardens in some of Melbourne's most creative businesses.
We especially love the little dinosaur terrariums - pick up your little piece of prehistoric paradise!

Most folk around Melbourne town would know Cath Hope who has been designing product and fashion for 17 years and is responsible for establishing the institution of Douglas & Hope.

Well Douglas & Hope has recently closed it's retail doors as Cath makes a move out of the big smoke but the great thing is she will continue to design and manufacture a whole range of goodies. Her melamine plates, cushions and tote bags will be available for sale at Harvest Market.

The Hungry Workshop is a contemporary letterpress printmaking and graphic design studio. They create unique printed works by exploring every aspect of the letterpress process – from design to paper stocks, ink and plate surface using a vintage Heidelberg Windmill (a big clunking and wooshing old letterpress machine) to create all of their printed work.

For the Harvest Xmas Market these guys will sell a selection of letterpress printed greeting cards, with an emphasis on the holidays, along with sets of cards that can be given as gifts. All of your gift giving needs can be taken care of under one roof.

Inklet is all about doing what’s best for our environment, our community and your little ones. Products are locally made with certified organic cotton fabrics and are screen printed by hand at Ink and Spindle with water based, environmentally friendly inks.

Inspired by nature, the ocean and Melbourne, Inklet came to life when Dana Leviston moved her children’s wear label Twiglet into the Ink & Spindle textile printing studio. It only made sense to combine their skills and produce this little range. The Inklet range consists of T-shirts for babies and children, baby blankets, bibs and onesies. Prints include "Pirates and Sea Creatures", "Trams and Bicycles" and "Little Forest".

It has been awesome watching our ex-student Indie Ladan foster her label Monolog that was launched at the 2010 Harvest Xmas Market.
In leaps and bounds she has taken her contemporary label to "must-have" status in the local fashion scene.

In Indie's words:
"Monolog is simply a celebration of graphics, forms and modularity. In developing their products they make their best attempts to be environmentally conscious – from using organic materials and processes to recycling waste where possible. They are also very much inspired to be practical and versatile."
At Harvest Xmas market Monolog will sell organic hand-screenprinted casual tops, singlets, dresses and outerwears.

One of the things we love the most about hosting a market is that we get to present some of the Harvest Workroom ex-students who happen to be a frightfully talented bunch.

One of the most popular stands last year at our market was the one hosted by the Harvest kids and their friends.
All goodies on the stall are made by those nimble or pudgy hands (depending on the age) ...who knows what is in store for this year's bits and pieces. It just depends what they conjure up over the next few weeks. Super cute stuff!
