Be sure to mark December 18th in your diary as a day to avoid last minute xmas shopping mall madness by heading to the Harvest Xmas Market. There will also be a Harvest Workroom ex-student's stall, a kid's craft stall, gift wrapping and craft activities plus yummy food will be brought to you by the infamous Taco Truck and local staple Each Peach. Judging by the success of last year's xmas market this is definitely an event not to be missed...so we hope to see you down there. Harvest Workroom, 512 Lygon Street, East Brunswick 10am - 5pm December 18th. Keep an eye on our blog over the coming weeks to see interviews with some of the makers who will be featuring at the market and view the stall holder profiles here. |

Join us at Harvest Workroom for the last 2011 event hosted by Popcraft before they frolick off into springtime. Tangled Journeys is a day celebrating the art of decorating your ride with yarn. Whether it is practical pieces, like skirt guards, saddle covers, maybe even handlebar bags, tasles, pom poms, tube covers. It could even be items to wear! There will be examples to see, a kick-start with a crochet expert setting people off on their first project, patterns, yarn and of course to fill the tummies of all who attend - Raff's famous Taco Truck. Tangled Journeys will be presented in conjunction with Treadlie Magazine, The Squeaky Wheel, Harvest Textiles and animator extraordinaire Isabel Knowles. To find out more about the event see our interview with Popcraft at our blog. Ride along to Harvest Workroom, 512 Lygon Street, East Brunswick |

If you haven't heard of Monolog then now is the time to sit up and listen. As one of Melbourne's most innovative new fashion/textile labels we at Harvest Workroom are well and truly looking forward to having them move into our space from September 2 -10. Monolog will use the opportunity to present the fresh new colours and styles that have been handprinted by Indie Ladan - the face behind the label - right here on our ten metre print table at Harvest Workroom. Opening night on 2nd September from 7pm-9.30pm. All welcome. |

The very talented Nikki Gabriel will join us as part of our makeUp @ Harvest Workroom program in July featuring designers that use recycled or upcycled materials in their work. Nikki will use her time with us to launch her WOOLI yarn - a stunning product made of remnant fibres of CASHMERE, SILK, WOOL, ALPACA and POSSUM. It’s mixed up and spun into this amazing heather yarn that has a bulky tweed look...absolutely beautiful. Using her "construction knitting" approach Nikki will host workshops to show people how to use her patterns to design and make garments using simple knitted shapes rather than elaborate craft skills. Now that sounds like a winning combination. |

The month of May sees Emily Green shimmy into Harvest Workroom to bless it with her wonderful sense of colour and abstraction. From May 9th she will take over the window exhibition space at 512 Lygon Street, East Brunswick and fill it with her colourful trademark style. Those lucky enought to attend the two evening session workshops Emily is hosting on Thursday May 12 & 19 will then be able to immerse themselves in all things Emily while they develop their own unique colour palette and create an abstract geometric collage that will then be made up into wearable art. Needless to say we are excited to have Emily brightening things up around here. There are still places left in the workshop so if you are at all interested -hop aboard!
